The Clash T-shirts Collection

The Clash were an English punk rock band. It was formed in 1976 as part of the innovative wave of UK punk. By the side of with punk rock, they experimented with reggae, dub, funk, rap and rockabilly. For the majority of their recording livelihood, The Clash consisted of Joe Strummer -lead vocals, rhythm guitar, Mick Jones -lead guitar, vocals, Paul Simonon -bass, backing vocals, occasional lead vocals, and Nicky "Topper" Headon - drums, percussion. Headon left the band in 1982, and inner resistance led to Jones's disappearance the following year. The punk band continued with new rock players, but lastly disbanded in early 1986.

 The Clash were a main triumph in the UK from the release of their self-titled debut album in 1977. Their third album, London Calling, released in the UK in 1979, brought them recognition in the United States when it came out there the next year. It received extensive critical commendation; a decade later Rolling Stone magazine stated it the most excellent album of the 1980s.

The Clash's politicized libretto, musical experimentation, and disobedient approach had a far-reaching power on rock, alternative rock in meticulous. Their record label's A&R administrator dubbed them "The Only British Band That Matters," which fans picked up and changed into "The Only Band That Matters". In January 2003 the band - with original drummer Terry Chimes - were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked The Clash number 30 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All punk music Time.

Most likely one of the most well known rock bands to come into sight from the early punk scene, The Clash has wrecked punk rock boundaries by including reggae, rockabilly, jazz in their music.
